A happy ending to yesterday's tale of woe.

Subject: I WIN!!!

At least at the Colma store. I was the first one to get Layton from the back room.

Game can't be too bad as it has a train in it.

My favorite thing about this email is the reminder that my Dad often judges games based on objects that are in them that have no bearing on gameplay. For example, he was interested in watching me play Katamari Damacy because it had a Ferris Wheel on the box.

I got this email today from my Dad. He has been like a little kid counting down the days until he'd be able to buy the sequel to his favorite game of all time, Professor Layton and the Curious Village. This is his story about trying to purchase Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box.

Hi Chris,

Did you see the new game that is available?

It's called, Let's find the DS game that is supposed to come out today and nobody has it.

I went to Best Buy Colma a little after 10 and they did not receive it. I went back at 3:30 and they still did not have it. I had them look up on the computer to see if Best Buy San Bruno got their shipment. The computer said they got 24 in (the same amount that Colma was supposed to get). Went down to San Bruno and looked all over the place. Had an associate look in the back and all over the store. There was another dude looking to buy the same game while I was there. No luck. Somehow they checked in something they didn't get. Is this game that hot that they do a phony check in and then steal it?? Something is fishy.

Then I went to Game Crazy on El Camino. "We don't carry the games that are under the radar!" See, ya.

So, if I find the game tomorrow do I win??

Is the game available in Seattle?

Today I asked you guys to send me dirty text messages.

And you did. Here's what I got.

As a courtesy, I cropped out people's phone numbers. If you want to claim something as your own, leave a comment.

This was the first message I received, from an anonymous benefactor. I must say that the imagery, while simple, is effective. Donkeys enjoy peanut butter, I am sure, so I imagine that there would be tongue action involved as well.

This benefactor offered two attempts, both noble and majestic, worth of royalty. Retarded, inbred royalty, of course, but royalty nonetheless.

Here we have @chelseabot living up to her name as a Twitter Shitter. As you can see by my text in green, I was initially confused; was she merely updating me as to her current hunger status, or was this a dirty, perverted code, passed along by generations of gross hobos and pickpockets, like in a Dickens story?

Some of you went the safe route, and offered me a more literal interpretation of the phrase, "dirty text.

Several of the messages I received left very little up to the
imagination.

My own brother got in on the action, offering a dead baby joke. That was pretty classy, I thought.

Some of the messages were even a little tender and sweet.

These final two were just... weird. How exactly do dishwashers intersect with ham? The funny thing is that both of them involve pigs, in certain ways. Is the first swine flu plus food equals surgeon and death, then poops and thumbs up? I'm so confused.

But it's @jules_party934 who won today! She took the initiative and left me this voicemail.

Audio, Web 2.0 company mentions, AND a sexy sign-off? How could she lose?!

Thanks for the lols, everyone; I hope y'all had as much fun as I did with this little project!

So guys, people from all over the net responded to my social network poll, where I asked, "What is your favorite movie?" I've gone through and compiled a list of all the movies mentioned; those of you who mentioned more than one, well, you get a free pass, as I included all of them! :-)

So, okay, I'm not a very smart person, but isn't the unemployment rate a key marker for how well the economy is going? Why then is the first paragraph of this article constructed as such:

Fewer Americans than forecast applied for unemployment benefits last week, indicating companies are reluctant to fire more workers even as the economy slows.

Wouldn't the better conclusion to draw from this data be, "Economy not really slowing as much as we thought"?

Again, I don't really know anything, other than common sense, maybe, so I'm happy to be corrected. It's just that whenever I go out into the real world, I see a bazillion people shopping, a bazillion people driving gasoline powered vehicles, and a bazillion people purchasing entertainment products. Do these things really happen in a "slow economy"?

This sounds pretty cool, but, honestly, how many blogs do people really have?
