FlyClear: The Latest Security Illusion

FlyClear is a new program that will allow people to fast track through airport security.

You need a couple pieces of ID, then have to go to the processing center to take your photo and give them your biometric details.

"Once in the Clear lane, show your government issued ID and you will insert your Clear card into the verification kiosk. The kiosk will read your card and prompt you to place your finger on the fingerprint reader or look into the iris reader. Once the kiosk verifies your biometrics and that you are a member in good standing, the kiosk will signal "You are Clear." You will receive a special stamp or receipt that will let TSA know you are a Clear member."

This is awesome. If you have the card clearly you are a good person!

"Clear members still proceed through metal detectors and x-ray machines operated and regulated by the TSA. Members are subject to TSA's screening rules and regulations. Once TSA has screened you and your bags, you will continue to your flight."

So, all that has changed is is you have cut through the line. And you've had to give up your biometrics to do it.

How retarded is this? And, once everyone joins up with this, the lines would be just as long. Also, how exactly would this ever guarantee that you are a safe person? We already know of certain unsafe people; they're on the DO NOT FLY list! If some religious wackjob isn't on the list, then, they could still enroll, still get on a plane, and still do something awful, disgusting, and wrong.

An Experiment in Cultural Literacy

Can one of the nation's great musicians cut through the fog of a D.C. rush hour? Let's find out.

I found this great article in the Washington Post about an experiment they did to test people's recognition of exemplary artistic talent. They took Joshua Bell, famous violin virtuoso, and put him in a metro station to play as a street musician. What happened? The answer might surprise you.

Divorce Rates Lowest Among Atheists

Divorce Rates Lowest Among Atheists, Highest Among Christians

Know what's eroding marriage in this country?

It's the gays.

That's right, son. The sanctity of marriage is being obliterated by the homosexuals.

End gay marriage, and save yours!

Sanctity of marriage my ass.

I like what the spokesman for the American Atheists said in the article:

"These findings confirm what I have been saying these last five years. Since Atheist ethics are of a higher caliber than religious morals, it stands to reason that our families would be dedicated more to each other than to some invisible monitor in the sky. With Atheism, women and men are equally responsible for a healthy marriage. There is no room in Atheist ethics for the type of 'submissive' nonsense preached by Baptists and other Christian and/or Jewish groups. Atheists reject, and rightly so, the primitive patriarchal attitudes so prevalent in many religions with respect to marriage."

Why is it that...

Why is it that you never meet a well adjusted person who has 150 allergies. It's always the creepy, no-social skills people who have tons of allergies, never the cool guy who goes rock climbing and is in the band.

Why is that?
