Pownce
Kevin Rose and his geek posse unveiled a new Web2.0 startup a week ago, called, "Pownce." Pownce is a cross between Twitter, Myspace Bulletins (at least, the way they were MEANT to be used [i.e. not a dumbass survey system and chain letter vector])/Facebook eventss, and a filesharing service.
In addition to their beautiful, sleek, and well designed web interface, the team at Megatechtronium (the parent company of Pownce) have put together a beautiful, sleek, and well designed desktop interface as well. It runs on Adobe AIR, which is Adobe's new cross platform runtime environment which essentially makes web applications desktop applications; sort of like Widgets (though more than just Java apps). Very interesting, and i expect to see it used by more and more companies in the future. Maybe we'll see Google porting their office apps to Adobe AIR.
Anyway, that was a tangent. Pownce is cool, if I haven't sent you an invite yet, I have four left. Just send me an email at sscneelix@gmail.com and let me know!
If you want to check out my Pownce page, head on over to CWKnight's Pownce Page or click the Pownce logo in the upper left corner of my blog page.
